The recovery of the full exercise of sovereignty over the Malvinas, South Georgias and South Sandwich Islands and the corresponding maritime and insular areas has been a permanent claim before the United Kingdom by the Argentine Republic, on every multilateral forum such as the OAS, CELAC and the UN, as well as on every
occasion for dialogue in which our country has been present.

During the month of October I participated, together with the Vice Minister of Foreign Aairs Pablo Tettamanti, in the inauguration of the 52nd General Assembly of the Organization of American States and thanked the hemispheric support for the Malvinas Question, convinced that this solidarity is key to continue building international
legitimacy on this path towards the peaceful recovery of illegally usurped territories.

The adoption by acclamation of the Declaration on the Question of the Malvinas Islands in Lima shows the historic consensus of the Member States of this regional organization.

Also at the regional level, I visited Colombia and Ecuador on an ocial mission. In Bogotá, I participated in working meetings on Antarctic and oceanic cooperation. In line with the objectives established by the Argentine government 40 years after the South Atlantic conflict, it was a propitious moment for the delivery of commemorative
medals to Malvinas war veterans and to receive the support of members of the Colombian parliament that are committed to the defense of Argentine sovereign rights over the archipelagos and maritime areas illegally occupied by the United Kingdom.

In Ecuador, I held meetings with members of the parliament and members of the Argentina-Ecuador Parliamentary Friendship group. The statement of the Plenary of the National Assembly of this country held special relevance: once again it ratified its support and solidarity with the Argentine rights over Malvinas through a Resolution approved unanimously by the Legislative Assembly. In a deeply symbolic gesture, we inaugurated a milestone that marks the distance between our Malvinas Islands and “the Middle of the World” - Zero Parallel.

October has been a month marked by a regional agenda that confirms the importance of revitalizing integration processes. As we have been saying, Malvinas is a national and also a Latin American cause.
