The Republic of Argentina supports Jamaica's emergency response to Hurricane Melissa

The Argentine Republic, through its Embassy in Jamaica, donated water treatment supplies to the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) in support of emergency response and recovery efforts following the aftermath of Melissa.

The donation has the capacity to treat more than one million liters of water and includes dual-purpose tablets for water purification and disinfection, contributing to improved access to safe and clean water for affected communities.

Access to safe water is a fundamental element in emergency situations. Through this contribution, Argentina highlights the importance it places on water security and public health, while reaffirming the longstanding friendship and solidarity between Argentina and Jamaica.
